Unfreeze your computer cleanly.
Ever notice how a freeze always happens just when you're in the middle of something revolutionarily exciting and earth-shattering?
Well, this tip won't save your stuff, but it'll reboot a lot more cleanly than pulling the plug.
However, I tried it on my EeePC 901 while in Ubuntu. Now a problem here is that SysReq is actual Del+Fn, so you actually have to hold down three keys (Del+Fn+Alt) while typing r-e-i-s-u-b.
Now unless you're an octopus, this is not easy.
On the EeePC, the machine rebooted (although I admit I was not in a freeze) but when restarting it complained of the drives not having been cleanly unmounted. However, this may well have been because I simply don't have enough hands. Next time I'll get somebody to lend me a hand (get it?).
