Great Linux apps -- or are they?

This list provides what it calls 25 Killer apps for Linux. However, there are few, if any, real discoveries here and there are only one or two I haven't heard of and/or already use.
Nevertheless, worth a look.
Actually, one of the commenters recommends this list which provides a far greater list of apps (although not necessarily categorized as "killer") which provide Linux users with an equivalent app to what works in Windows.
