I've used VirtualBox and I like it. I found that Senryu VM worked much more smoothly in VirtualBox than in VMware Server as did TinyMe (PClos).Here's a pictorial tutorial which explains how to create a new VM in VirtualBox.

It's not yet totally clear to me what this does but I may try it on my EeePC (which, BTW, is basically the only computer I use these days -- I'm so impressed with it)

After the availability of Oosah with its 1 TB (1024 GB) of free space everything else is going to look pretty measly.However, it doesn't at all cater for text files. Maybe you can use OrbitFiles for your document files and Oosah for all your media stuff.

Here's a blog post on Fdupes.I tried it in Ubuntu Eee and I'm not sure how useful it was. It sure found a lot of supposed duplicates but very few, if any, with the same name.Actually, the vast majority of these "duplicates" were in ~/.opera/cache4/ and I wasn't going to delete the cache particularly as I'm not short of space right now.
